Prevalence of Psychological Distress and Its Risk Factors in Patients with Primary Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors

Psychological distress is common in patients with soft tissue and bone tumors. We first investigated its frequency the associated risk factors pre-operative Participants included 298 tumors who underwent surgery our institution between 2015 2020. was evaluated by Distress Impact Thermometer (DIT) that consists of two types questions (questions about severity patient’s (DIT-D) impact (DIT-I)). used a cut-off point 4 on DIT-D 3 DIT-I for screening psychological distress. therefore investigated: (1) prevalence as assessed DIT or thermometer (DT), which can be decided ≥ 4, (2) what are distress, (3) number consulted psychiatrist With DT, we identified 64 (21%) 95 (32%), respectively, Multivariate logistic regression revealed older age, sex (female), malignancy (malignant intermediate tumor), lower Barthel Index, higher numeric rating scale were Two (3%) after surgery. In conclusion, careful attention to needed, especially female patients, those malignant have more than moderate pain.
